Attorney Rachel See will be visiting the December 19 Trans Peer Group to offer a presentation on legal name and gender changes.
The meeting takes place from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at The Women's Initiative in Charlottesville. Rachel See will give a presentation on legal information about how the name/gender change process works. She will also be able to talk about recent developments in the law under Title VII and Title IX, and how those laws are being used to protect trans people from discrimination. Facebook event page. Delegate Patrick Hope of Arlington has introduced a bill into the Virginia General Assembly which would seek to amend the Code of Virginia to prohibit licensed therapists from practicing "conversion" or "reparative" therapy on minors. The bill, HB1385, is currently before the Committee on Health, Welfare and Institutions.
